Beliefs
We are a gospel-centered, disciple-making ministry.

Our goal is to see biblical discipleship strengthened and elevated in the Church.

Since we serve a wide array of churches and we hold tightly to core elements of the Protestant evangelical Christian tradition, as stated below in the Downline Statement of Faith. We recognize and allow for freedom in more non-essential areas of theology that may differ across denominational lines. Students will be exposed to gospel-centered, expository teaching from Genesis - Revelation that will deepen their knowledge of God’s Word and stir their affections for Christ.

Downline’s Statement of Faith

(adapted from the National Association of Evangelicals)

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe it is inerrant in the original writings, and it is the complete, sufficient and final authority for faith and practice.

  • We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe all humanity is sinful and in a lost condition apart from saving faith in Jesus Christ.

  • We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead; they who are saved unto the resurrection of life and they who are lost unto eternal separation from God.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
