Uganda is a country of 40 million people. Currently, 50% of the population is under 15 years of age. 60% of the total population is under the age of 21. Uganda is a country of kids that long for mentoring and discipleship. We partner with 5 local ministries in Jinja, Uganda. These partners are hard at work living life with children, teenagers, young mothers, abandoned women and orphans. The opportunities for disciple making are everywhere and are welcomed by our partners but most importantly welcomed by Ugandans. We plan to teach in a conference full of young Ugandan leaders. They call this group Quest. They meet weekly as small groups and monthly they come together in a group of 150. We also will have the opportunity to speak directly to a group of 40 women who have been abandoned, abused and neglected but whom God is using to change the heart of the community. We will stay at Heal Ministries where these women come daily to work and learn from each other and the staff at Heal. This trip is being led in partnership with Hope Presbyterian Church by Johnny Long and Betsy Killins.
